Amina RoysterMaster Ballet and Modern Instructor
This Baltimore native previously graduated from the Dance Divisions of Sudbrook Magnet Middle School and Carver Center for Arts and Technology with the Outstanding Technique Award. Following her accomplishments, she was accepted at Juilliard where she completed her fine arts training in dance while also working as a writer for the prestigious Juilliard Dance Journal. Amina has had the opportunity to perform works by highly acclaimed choreographers such as Ron Brown, Ohad Naharin, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Jose Limon, Robert Battle, Zvi Gotheiner and Nia Love. Amina has also had the opportunity to perform and teach all over the United States and Canada. During this period, Amina has had the opportunity to work with dancers of all ages and abilities in the art of ballet and modern dance. Amina recently returned to Maryland after working in New York as a professional dancer and instructor. Amina was employed over the last several years as a Concert Modern Dance Performer in Manhattan with the Blacksmith's Daughter Dance Theater and as a Ballet Mistress and Modern Dance Instructor with Bridge for Dance and The Professional Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Amina looks forward to sharing her love and passion for the art of dance with students of all ages and abilities on a weekly basis at SDC. Amina will be teaching ballet and modern, as well as providing choreography and intensive technique training for SDC’s Regional and National Competition Team.
