Ballet/Pointe and Jazz

Jenn ReedJenn has studied dance for over 20 years and been a choreographer and instructor for the past 4 years. At the age of 9, Jenn began dancing at The Hanover School of Ballet and was ultimately accepted into the Children's Ballet Theatre and Company at the age of 10. Based on her accomplishments, Jenn received additional training via scholarship as a student of the "University of the Arts" in Philadephia, PA. Her training included master instruction by Kim Bears-Bailey, Faye Snow, Scott Javovich, Eva Szabo, Ronen Koresh, Wayne St. David and LaVaughn Robinson.

Throughout her years of ballet training and performance, Jenn has been privileged to travel across the world and share her love of dance with others. For example, Jenn has performed by invitation for audiences in the Republics of Czech and Slovakia, Hungary and Austria as well as throughout the People's Republic of China.

In addition, Jenn has had the opportunity to perform at The World Stamp Expo, Disney World's Galaxy Palace Theatre, The Amphitheatre, The Festival of Lights in Washington, D.C., Frank Hatchett's "Showcase", Epcot's American Festival Theatre and Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. Jenn has also performed in TV Productions to benefit Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital. As a competitor, Jenn won several Regional and National Dance titles, as well as numeorus Regional and National Awards.

In addition to her extensive ballet and jazz background, Jenn has also received master instruction under the direction of world-renowned dancers, such as Frank Hatchett, Janice Barringer, Sam Fiorello, Tommy Alexander, Steven Boyd, Debbie Dee, Joan Lather and Sarah Fazio. Jenn continues to train with some of today's hottest choreographers and attend and participate in Regional and National Dance Workshops each year, while also attending classes and dance workshops in New York at Broadway Dance Center.

With respect to the stage, Jenn has appeared in musical productions of "Annie", "Toyland", "Wizard of Oz", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat", "It's A Dog's Life", and "Music Man."

Jenn looks forward to bringing her experience and expertise to SDC's dancers. Her areas of instruction at SDC include jazz, ballet and lyrical.
