Michael HicksHip-Hop
Attending Baltimore City College High School, a college preparatory national blue ribbon school of excellence, he was able to academically succeed while studying in areas vocally and performance wise through extra-curricular activities built to enhance and advance TALENTS for the real world (Baltimore City College Choir and Catwalk Modeling Club). Studying multiple styles/genres of various time periods (classical, jazz, gospel, spirituals, hymns, requiems, baroque, renaissance, contemporary, ect.) of music, styles of performing, and choreography furthered his love while he toured the world. As a choreographer, Michael has provided hip-hop instruction and choreography for upcoming artists Cynthia Lissette, Neena, and Sanjay with a track sheet opening for artists Omarion, Marquis Houston, Amerie, Fantasia, Chris Brown, Mila J, Brook Valentine, Tiara Marie, Ray J, Dem Franchize Boys, Rick Ross, Black Buddafly, Trey Songz Trina, and 112. Mike is currently working and will be starring as a dancer in the new movie "Step Up 2" - which is being filmed in Baltimore. In addition, Michael recently directed and choreographed the Catwalk Models Annual Spring Fashion Production "Cinematic Exposure", which received the highest of review for being their best production to date. Michael has also done runway modeling, songwriting for numerous artist, and is currently working on a demo with plans of being signed to a major record label in the future. Michael looks forward to bringing his experience and expertise to SDC's dancers. His area of instruction at SDC is hip-hop.

Michael was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He has studied dance for over 10 years and has been a hip-hop choreographer and instructor for 3 years. Mike's dance career took off after winning a "You Got Served" dance competition in Baltimore as he became an official dancer for 92Q Jams. He started to nourish his skills participating in any and everything he could get his hands on dealing with the arts.
