Thomas Ford Master Tap Instructor
Thomas Ford began dancing at the age of five and later joined the elite company of “Tappers with Attitude” for five years. Thomas performed with Debbie Allen’s “Dreams” and is a winner of McDonald’s Apollo Kids Talent Search, in Baltimore , giving him the opportunity to perform twice at the Apollo Theatre. He danced in tribute to Shirley Temple at the televised “Kennedy Center Honors” and performed with the Tritonus Choir from Denmark in honor of Duke Ellington’s 100th birthday celebration. He has toured with the show “Tap Kids” directed and choreographed by Lisa Hopkins and later joined the touring cast of Mike Minery’s “Tapaholics.” In 2003, Thomas was the principle tap dancer performing the “Tap Dance Concerto” by Morton Gould with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In the summer of 2004, Thomas performed at the Tropicana in Atlantic City in a show produced by David Saxe called “Prodigy, Kids with Unbelievable Talent.” The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts recently dubbed him a Presidential Scholar Semi-finalist, an experience culminating in a live performance on the “Today Show” on NBC. Thomas performed in Laurie Ann Gibson’s music video for her new single, “Addictive” and was a featured soloist in Neil Goldberg’s original production of “Breakthru” at the Ziegfeld Theatre.
